GovTech 2026 SMME Exhibition and Pitching Terms & Conditions
It is the responsibility of all the entrants to ensure that their Intellectual Property is legally protected.

Exhibitors
1.Exhibitors are solely responsible for protecting their intellectual property rights.
2. SMMEs applying to participate as exhibitors shall be SMMEs in the innovation or ICT
manufacturing space.
3. SMMEs applying to exhibit must complete the online application form as posted on the SITA GovTech 2026 website.
4. SMMEs exhibiting will receive one exhibition pass and one delegate pass for GovTech2026 summit.
5. The SITA/GovTech summit will NOT be covering transportation and accommodation
costs for successful exhibition applicants for GovTech summit event.
6. Only successful participants to the event will be informed of the outcome of the results after selections have been made and finalized.
7. All exhibitors are required to be present and to exhibit on all 3 days of the GovTech conference (21ST, 22ND and 23RD of September 2026).
8. No SITA employee or potential employee will be allowed to exhibit or participate in the pitching competition. If found this will be an automatic disqualification.
9. The SITA/GovTech reserves the right to change these terms and conditions in its sole
discretion.

Pitchers
Terms and Conditions applicable to SMME Innovators participating in the GovTech pitching competition:
1. The SMMEs who will participate in the GovTech pitching competition are advised to
take the necessary steps to protect their Intellectual Property.
2. Only entries received via the online application on the SITA/GovTech website will be accepted.
3. If you are participating in the GovTech Pitching Competition, you are not permitted to participate in the GovTech Hackathon, and vice versa—that is, if you participate in the GovTech Hackathon, you may not enter the GovTech Pitching Competition
4. Photos of the inventions should be submitted in a JPEG format not exceeding 5MB.
5. The SITA/GovTech reserves the right, in its sole discretion, not to accept entries or to
disqualify entries at any stage should it transpire that such entries have been made by
illegitimate, suspicious, and/or unqualified participants.
6. Entries will be evaluated by a multi-functional team established by SITA and only
successful entrants will be informed of the outcome of the results after selections have
been made and finalized.
7. Selection of competing entrants will be done in accordance with the pitching selection criteria developed by the SITA team.
8. Successful entrants who win the pitching competition will be selected by a qualified and appointed judging panel. The judging panel’s decision is final.
9. The SITA/GovTech reserves the right to change these terms and conditions in its sole
discretion.
10. The SITA/GovTech Summit reserves the right to use submitted images for
promotional and marketing purposes.
11.The SITA/GovTech Summit will NOT be covering transportation and accommodation
costs for finalists who will be pitching at the GovTech summit event
12. Selected participants are responsible for being present and punctual on the scheduled pitching day. No arrangements will be made if a participant fails to attend.
13. SMMES are prohibited from resubmitting previously submitted solutions unless it has been significantly improved or substantially redesigned.
14. Any SMME that has been declared a winner in past GovTech pitching competition is not eligible to participate or submit entries in the current or any future GovTech pitching competitions.
15. The SITA/GovTech reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to reject or disqualify entries at any stage if it is determined that the entries were submitted by illegitimate, suspicious, or unqualified participants, or if the entrants violate any of the pitching competition’s terms and conditions.
