About The Hackathon​

The GovTech Hackathon 2025 is a national open innovation challenge hosted ahead of South Africa’s leading government technology conference. Over three days, multidisciplinary teams from across the country will collaborate to develop breakthrough digital solutions that tackle real public service delivery challenges.

This is more than a coding sprint — it’s a platform for co-creation, experimentation, and partnerships between government, tech innovators, startups, academia, and civil society.

Your Mission:

Code, collaborate, and change lives. Build a data-powered solution in 48 hours that helps South Africa leapfrog into a smarter, safer, and more equitable future.

Who Can sign Up?

– Participants SMMEs (EMEs with Revenue of <= R10 Million)
– Maximum 5 Participants per team
– The Participating teams will have to be at the venue for the duration of the hack
